A newly installed memorial to past members of the Portadown True Blues Flute Band has been deliberately damaged.

The monument was put in place on Saturday and was subsequently targeted.

The band's committee expressed deep disappointment over the incident. The memorial was erected to honour former members who gave years of time, commitment and service.

The committee said the damage was disrespectful not only to the memory of those commemorated but also to their families and friends.

Despite the setback, the band remains committed to repairing the memorial and ensuring it continues as a permanent tribute. The committee thanked those who have offered support and concern following the incident.
