The roof of St Lawrence's Church in Fintona, County Tyrone, requires complete replacement at an estimated cost of £1 million. The 1841 building has sustained increasing damage from storms in recent years.

A fundraising committee has been formed to gather the necessary funds. Several events are planned over the coming months. One of the first initiatives is a renovation fund draw.

The Colton family has donated a breeding heifer as the top prize, with a cash alternative of £2,000. The second prize is £500, and there are five additional prizes of £100 each. Tickets are priced at £20 each or three for £40. The draw is scheduled for October 31, 2026.

Ticket sellers will visit homes throughout the parish in the coming weeks. Those interested in purchasing tickets or supporting the effort can contact committee member Seamus Cullinan.

The church, approaching its 200th anniversary, serves the local community. Parishioners aim to preserve it for future generations.
