A man from Loughgilly has been disqualified from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty to drink driving while attempting to help recover a crashed vehicle.

The court heard that the defendant was trying to tow a car out of a ditch when police arrived at the scene. He subsequently admitted the offence.

A district judge remarked that the man’s actions could be seen, to some degree, as those of a Good Samaritan. The driving ban was imposed as part of the sentence.
