Man in his 70s assaulted with brick in West Belfast
A man in his seventies has been assaulted in West Belfast after confronting a group of youths over a rubbish fire.
The incident happened shortly before 5.20pm on Wednesday 17 June on Upper Whiterock Road. The man approached a group of young people at a builders’ yard where a fire had been set.
He was struck on the head with what is believed to be a brick. The youths then fled on foot. The victim later received treatment for head injuries.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire.
