Mullavilly Primary School in County Armagh held a day of outdoor activities to mark International Day of Play.

Pupils led the way, choosing their own play activities across the school grounds. The day was shaped by the children's ideas and interests.

Kerrie Hall, the school's principal, said that giving children the space to play and to guide their own learning allows them to flourish. She described play as the work of children and a key foundation for confident, happy and successful learners.

The school's stated vision is to inspire, nurture, celebrate and flourish. Staff observed that the day reflected this vision through the children's resilience, teamwork and problem-solving.
