BuskFest 2026 Set for Banbridge Town Centre with New Friday Events
The annual BuskFest competition will return to Banbridge on Saturday 20 June 2026 for its 22nd year, transforming the town centre into an open-air stage for musicians and street performers.
Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, the event features family activities alongside the busking contest, including face painting, balloon modelling, a climbing wall and food stalls.
Lord Mayor Councillor Mary O'Dowd encouraged attendance, noting the event brings more visitors into the town and supports local trade.
The day concludes with a prize-giving ceremony and concert at 5pm near the Downshire Arms. Last year's winners 4am Club will perform, along with The Reillys and Anna's Number. Buskers can register at buskfest.com for a share of a £4,500 prize fund.
Two new events are scheduled for Friday 19 June. Behind The Beat runs from 7pm to 8pm at Amavi, with Ralph McLean, Andrea Begley and Caitlin Henning offering advice for emerging musicians. At the same time, MOBO-nominated jazz artist David Lyttle will showcase young talent from his Jazz Juniors programme at Roast & Roll in Banbridge Games Cafe.
