The McDonald's restaurant at Braidwater Retail Park in Ballymena will reopen on Wednesday 10 June following a six-week closure for a £1.1 million refurbishment.

The project created 20 additional jobs, bringing total staff at the site to 150. The franchisee said most employees live locally.

A new separate McDelivery collection area has been added, with a dedicated entrance and waiting space for couriers. The kitchen and order assembly area have been enlarged to handle peak demand, and the customer seating area now accommodates 75 people.

Franchisee Paddy Cusack, who also runs the Antrim, Larne, and Magherafelt locations, said the upgrades are designed to improve the experience for customers, delivery riders, and crew alike. He stated that creating local employment and sustaining jobs in the community is a priority, and the investment ensures the restaurant remains modern and welcoming.
