ARDS: A man appeared before Ards Magistrates' Court charged with making, possessing and distributing an indecent image of a child, with the case mentioned and adjourned.

COLERAINE: Abdallah Alassi (26), of Cromore Court, Coleraine, appeared via video link charged with assault and causing criminal damage to a shisha pipe and glass water bottle, with a charge of possessing a knife as an offensive weapon withdrawn by prosecutors. He was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to June 8.

DOWNPATRICK: Conor Carey (36), of Glashena Road, Downpatrick, was remanded in custody after appearing before Downpatrick Magistrates' Court charged with the attempted murder of a police officer by allegedly driving a stolen police Skoda Kodiak directly at him, causing serious injuries including a fractured wrist and crush injury to his leg. Carey, who strenuously denies involvement, was also charged with two counts of aggravated vehicle theft causing injury, dangerous driving and driving without insurance, with the case adjourned to June 18.
