Portadown firm expands aerospace facility with £10m investment
SAM NI has opened a new 25,000 square foot extension at its Portadown site, bringing the total manufacturing area to 68,000 square feet.
The £10 million investment increases the company's capacity for machining, inspection and subassembly work.
The firm supplies components to Airbus, Boeing, Collins Aerospace and Safran Nacelles.
Operations director Joel Best said the expansion reflects customer confidence in the company's specialist engineering capabilities and supports further growth.
Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly visited the facility and said the expansion demonstrates the role Northern Ireland plays in the global aerospace industry.
Invest Northern Ireland director Brendan McGuigan said the investment establishes SAM NI as a strategic manufacturing partner in the aerospace sector.
The company is recruiting across CNC machining, fabrication, quality assurance, engineering, apprenticeships and office support roles.
