Brucellosis compensation rates set for June 2026
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has published compensation rates for animals requiring slaughter due to brucellosis in June 2026.
Owners of reactors and negative in contacts will receive 75 per cent of the animal's market value or 75 per cent of £2,404, whichever is lower.
Pedigree animals will be assessed using a higher threshold of £2,704 instead of £2,404.
The rates apply where notice of intended slaughter is issued during the month of June 2026.
