A 27-year-old Larne man appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on 28 May charged with exceeding the 70mph speed limit.

Blair Maxwell, of North Row, Larne, is accused of driving at 120mph on 16 February.

District Judge Nigel Broderick asked whether Maxwell faced a charge of dangerous driving. The prosecutor confirmed no such charge had been brought.

The court received no further details about the alleged incident.

The case was adjourned until 11 June.
