Stephen Rafferty, a musician from Newcastle, will perform with the band Wolfhound at The Anchor venue on Saturday night.

Rafferty has worked as a solo artist for 13 years. He joined Wolfhound at the start of this year as lead singer and guitarist.

The performance marks Rafferty's first appearance with the band in his home area. The Anchor is the same venue where he held his first headline solo show.

Wolfhound formed from the group The Knights. The band plays a mix of traditional and original material across venues in Ireland, the UK, Europe, the USA and the Middle East.

Rafferty said the band members, who are from counties Armagh and Tyrone, completed two rehearsals before performing together. He stated that the group has upcoming festival appearances in Liverpool and Switzerland in September, along with other events across Ireland this summer.

Rafferty said he has begun writing and recording new material with the band. He added that the band plans to release singles next year.
