Runway Run Raises Funds for Air Ambulance NI
A charity event at City of Derry Airport on 25 April raised funds for Air Ambulance NI.
230 runners and walkers covered 1,150km on the airport runway.
The total raised will fund six days of the charity's critical care operations.
The service works with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to deliver pre-hospital care by helicopter within 25 minutes of an emergency call.
Air Ambulance NI operates seven days a week for 12 hours each day and relies on public fundraising of £3 million annually.
Kerry Anderson, Head of Fundraising at Air Ambulance NI, said the funds will help deliver critical pre-hospital care to people facing life-threatening injuries.
Steve Frazer, Managing Director at City of Derry Airport, said the airport regularly welcomes the service and was pleased to host the event.
