ARMAGH: A 45-year-old man from Armagh, previously protected by an interim reporting restriction, has been sent to Craigavon Crown Court charged with sexual assault by penetration, alleged to have been committed against a woman in March last year. District Judge Michael Ranaghan removed the anonymity order after finding the contents of a medical report did not meet the high threshold required, and released the defendant on continuing bail.

BALLYMENA: A 22-year-old Ballymena man appeared at Antrim Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a piece of glass as an offensive weapon, following an alleged attack on another man at a flat in Dunclug Park in the early hours of 25 May. The defendant, who has 74 previous convictions, denies the assault.

BALLYMENA: A 40-year-old man charged with harassment alleged to have occurred in February this year pleaded not guilty at Ballymena Magistrates' Court. The case was adjourned to 4 June to fix a date for a contest.

BALLYMENA: A 62-year-old woman from Crumlin appeared at Antrim Magistrates' Court charged with stealing sunglasses and other items worth £91 from a chemist and groceries worth £57 from an M&S store on separate dates this year. The case was adjourned to 2 June.

BELFAST: The owner of Belfast Breakfast Baps was fined for breaching a court order but cleared of assaulting police.
