Antrim defeated Tipperary 4-12 to 2-12 in the Tailteann Cup at Corrigan Park.

Antrim scored four goals. Ryan McQuillan scored two goals and one point. Conor Hand and Ronan Boyle each scored one goal.

Paddy McAleer scored two points. Niall Burns and Dominic McEnhill each scored two points. John McNabb, Eoghan McCabe, Marc Jordan, Tiernan McCormack and Tomas McCann each scored one point.

Tipperary scored two goals. Joe Higgins and Steven O'Brien each scored one goal. Sean O'Connor scored five points.

Antrim led by 13 points at one stage. Tipperary reduced the margin to five points before Antrim held on for the win.

Antrim will play at home in the next round.

Player Niall Burns said the heat affected play and the team aimed to finish the game early. He said the team has developed a rhythm in attack and that the crowd helped the players.
