A 5k fun run and walk will take place in Carndonagh on May 29.

Entry costs €20 per family or €10 per adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration opens at 6.30 pm at the Garden Centre. The event starts at 7.30 pm and finishes in the Diamond.

Tea, sandwiches and a prize giving will follow in Unit 6 under SuperValu.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in men's, women's and children's categories.

Proceeds will support Spraoi Agus Spórt's disability bus, which provides transport for inclusive community services.

The event also marks achievements of participants in the Couch to 5K programme. Programme organiser Mary McWeeny said the run allows families and friends to get active together and that every euro raised helps maintain safe transport for children, young people and adults accessing activities.
