Firefighters responded to a fire at a bonfire site on Flora Street in East Belfast.

Four fire appliances attended the scene after the fire service was called at 10.46am.

The blaze involved a quantity of material that had been collected for the bonfire.

It is not known whether the fire was started deliberately.

The public has been asked to avoid the area and to keep windows and doors closed because of smoke.

Two appliances came from Knock Fire Station, one from Whitla Fire Station and one from Cadogan Fire Station.
