Belfast Docks Waste Site Fire Under Control After Two Hours
Firefighters brought a waste site fire in Belfast's Duncrue Street area under control on Tuesday, March 24.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the blaze at 4:06pm. Crews mobilised appliances from Whitla, Westland, Glengormley, Central, and Knock fire stations. Specialist equipment included a turntable ladder from Springfield Fire Station and a command support unit from Lisburn Fire Station.
More than 40 firefighters attended the incident in the docks area. Operations scaled back after the fire was contained at 6:59pm.
The service determined the cause as accidental. A spokesperson noted appreciation for public patience during the response.
No roads were closed as a result of the fire.
