Sinn Féin MLA Danny Baker has urged the Health and Education Ministers to cooperate on legislation supporting young people with complex and additional needs.

Baker stated that young people with additional and complex needs and their families deserve equal opportunities.

The MLA noted that campaigners, including Alma White of Caleb’s Cause, have kept post-19 support on the agenda.

Sinn Féin Minister Caoimhe Archibald has acted within her department to provide support.

Baker said the Health and Education Ministers must now work with her to deliver promised support for families.

He described the need for action and stated that these young people and their parents deserve more than delay.
