The Sunday Times Rich List ranks Lady Ballyedmond and family as Northern Ireland's wealthiest individuals, with estimated assets of £898m in 2026. The figure marks a decline from £922m the previous year. The family wealth stems from Norbrook Laboratories, a veterinary pharmaceuticals firm based in Newry.

Michael Loughran and family hold the second position at £770m, an increase from £530m last year. They own LCC, a Cookstown-based energy company that supplies home heating oil, coal, and operates the GO petrol station chain across Northern Ireland and Ireland. The business records annual turnover above £1 billion. The family moved £89.8m to the Isle of Man last year.

Robert and William Barnett and family rank third with £715m, up from £647m in 2025. They run W&R Barnett, a Belfast firm founded in 1896 that deals in agricultural commodities including grains, sugars, and animal feed.

Golfer Rory McIlroy from Holywood appears on the UK under-40 rich list with £325m in sponsorship earnings.

The overall UK list covers 350 individuals and families with combined wealth of £783.5bn. Entry requires at least £340m. Robert Watts, the list compiler, noted the publication tracks identifiable assets such as land, property, and shares in public companies.
