Driver Disqualified Again After Police Stop in Granville
Police on patrol in Granville stopped to assist a motorist whose car had broken down at around 11.55pm on January 29. The driver was Gerald Martin Herron, 52, from Millbrook in Coalisland.
Checks revealed Herron had been disqualified from driving for three months by Dungannon Magistrates Court on November 12 of the previous year. He also lacked insurance cover due to the disqualification.
Dungannon Magistrates Court heard Herron lived alone in Coalisland. District Judge Francis Rafferty noted the prior short disqualification had not succeeded.
The court imposed a 12-month driving ban on Herron along with 120 hours of community service for driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Judge Rafferty warned Herron that breaching the new order or driving again would likely result in a jail term.
