Fire crews from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service responded to a blaze at a recycling centre on Hillsborough Road in Carryduff.

A service spokesperson confirmed firefighters attended the scene. They instructed local residents to keep windows and doors closed. The public received advice to avoid the area to assist the firefighting efforts.

South Belfast MLA Kate Nicholl commented on X about the fire at the Irish waste facility. She noted concern over images of the large blaze and expressed support for the fire brigade handling it.
