UFU Staff Complete Belfast Marathon Legs for Rural Support Charity
A team from the Ulster Farmers' Union completed legs of the Belfast City Marathon to raise funds for Rural Support. The charity assists farmers and rural families across Northern Ireland.
Participants included Kate McIldowney, Steph Clokey, Leah Moffitt, Alexander Kinnear and policy assistant Lawrence Whyte. Whyte ran his leg in 36 minutes and 54 seconds.
The team collected £1,655 in donations. The fundraising link stays open for additional contributions.
Former UFU President William Irvine praised the participants for their commitment. He noted Rural Support delivers practical and emotional aid to farmers under pressure. Irvine stated the funds will help maintain services in rural areas.
The effort shows solidarity in the farming community, according to the UFU.
