Vandalism Targets Water Feature in Co Down Church Garden
Police in Northern Ireland are investigating vandalism to a water feature in the Garden of Reflection at Magheralin Parish Church in Co Down.
The feature was installed four years ago using funds from the Mothers’ Union.
The damage occurred on April 25. DUP councillor Peter Haire expressed sadness over the incident. He noted the feature's role in the memorial garden.
Haire called the vandalism unacceptable in a community setting meant for reflection and remembrance. He confirmed contact with the PSNI from both his office and that of Emma Little-Pengelly.
Police have opened a case. They are reviewing CCTV footage and plan additional patrols in the Magheralin area.
Anyone with information should call 101 or report online via the PSNI website.
