Pupils from St Columba’s College Stranorlar and Strabane Academy travelled to Derry-Londonderry in December for activities under the PEACEPLUS ASPIRE programme.

The group took a guided tour of Guildhall and the Tower Museum. The tour covered key milestones in the city's history. It ended with a workshop on improving local communities.

Ms Andrena Cowan and Ms Bridgeen Mac Manus led the workshop. Pupils worked together and shared views on peace and reconciliation.

Pupils participated in a mock debate in the council chamber. The session focused on collaboration in a diverse society.

The programme supports direct contact between children and young people from different backgrounds. The Education Authority leads PEACEPLUS ASPIRE with partners including Léargas, Early Years - the organisation for young children, National Childhood Network and the Fermanagh Trust.

The Special EU Programmes Body manages PEACEPLUS. Pupils will continue online collaboration and create art pieces symbolising school connections.
