Bróna McVittie, a singer-songwriter and harpist from Rostrevor, has released The Stolen Child as the lead single from her forthcoming album Supernatural. The album is scheduled for release later this year.

Supernatural serves as a companion to McVittie's book A Way with the Fairies, an anthology on Irish fairy lore and mythic tales from Europe. The single reimagines a poem by W.B. Yeats from 1886. McVittie stated that the poem has long been a family favourite and that she carried its first two verses in mind while composing the music.

McVittie described the poem as capturing the essence of the fairy world. She noted its connection to the mystical atmosphere of Sligo. The album coincides with the autumn timing of Samhain.

Produced by Thomas Gandey, the album features contributions from flamenco guitarist Antonia Jiménez from Spain, bandurist Anastasiya Voytyuk from Ukraine, and vocalist-composer Jausmë from Lithuania. Each guest artist appears on one track.

The single is available on digital platforms. Supernatural is McVittie's fourth solo album.
