A mental health charity for haulage industry workers in Northern Ireland will host a truck show on July 4 at Nutts Corner in Co Antrim. The event follows a £15,000 grant from the National Lottery Fund.

Breaker Breaker provides support through a Mobile Hub that visits truck shows, ferries and company sites across Northern Ireland. The hub offers mental health services, physical health checks and referrals.

The charity partners with Inspire Wellbeing to fund a helpline for phone and face-to-face counselling. Users in the haulage sector contact the UK helpline at 0800 389 5362 using the code word Breaker Breaker.

Leanne Lyons founded Breaker Breaker in 2019 after her husband David, a lorry driver, died in December 2018. Services extend to drivers, office staff and yard workers.

S&W Wholesale sponsors the truck show. Transport manager David McDowell stated his firm with 35 drivers and 250 warehouse staff promotes the charity's services internally.

The charity seeks volunteers and operates with a small team of family and friends. Contact via Facebook or Instagram for details.
