Fermanagh Primary School Approved for £5m Redevelopment
Education Minister Paul Givan has approved construction for a £5 million enhancement project at St Mary’s Primary School in Newtownbutler, Fermanagh.
The project includes demolishing most of the existing structure and building a new two-storey extension. The remaining part of the school will undergo full remodelling.
The Department of Education confirmed the school meets sustainability criteria on enrolment, finances and education quality.
Pupil numbers at the school have increased in recent years.
Principal Mrs Kelly welcomed the approval as a major milestone. She noted the school’s adaptability in prioritising pupils despite building condition issues. Kelly stated the new facilities will provide a suitable environment for modern learning.
