Strabane Father Dragged by Car After Street Confrontation
A father of three from Strabane sustained serious injuries to his face head and knees after being dragged approximately 300 yards down Railway Street by a moving car. The incident occurred on Saturday night outside the Harp and Fiddle pub.
Shaun Amo Hamilton was standing with his wife outside the pub waiting to go home when a car drove past and a man inside sprayed them with liquid from a water gun. Hamilton approached the car to ask what the substance was. The driver did not respond pulled up the window and drove off as Hamilton held onto the water gun.
Hamilton refused hospital treatment immediately after the incident and went home. The next morning he recognised the severity of his injuries including large cuts to his face and head and severely sprained knees swollen like a balloon. He now uses crutches due to unbearable pain and cannot drive work or take his children to school or afterschool activities.
An 18-year-old man was arrested for road-related offences and released on bail pending further enquiries. Police request witnesses or anyone with digital footage to contact Strabane police on 101 quoting reference number 189 of 26/04/26.
