DUP leader Gavin Robinson referenced the murder of Glenn Quinn during a House of Commons debate on the government's Troubles Bill. Quinn, aged 47, died in January 2020 after men beat him in his Ashleigh Park home in Carrickfergus. He had a terminal blood condition and no paramilitary links.

Robinson addressed the family of the victim, including Quinn's brother Martin Quinn and his 82-year-old mother. He stated that loyalist paramilitaries killed Quinn in his home despite his illness. Robinson noted that the mother receives death threats from loyalists due to the actions of Colin Simms.

Robinson said Simms lacks support from his community or comrades. He called on the Secretary of State to assure Mrs Quinn that Simms and similar individuals will not gain immunity or early release. The debate took place on Monday night.
