Residents of Newtownbutler held a fundraiser on Saturday to support Galloon Parish Sunday School. The event followed a burglary and vandalism incident at the church building last month.

Burglars entered the Galloon Parish Church in Newtownbutler. They caused interior damage and wrote sectarian slogans on the walls.

UUP MLA Diana Armstrong attended the coffee morning. She noted strong community turnout to aid repairs after the destruction.

Armstrong highlighted discussions with attendees about neighbourly support, community events, cohesion, respect, and understanding. She described the vandalism as an attack on good relations.

Armstrong thanked Michael Donegan for representing the community in condemning the incident.
