Dr. Aoife Ferris provided an update on bluetongue. She covered current vaccination guidance for the viral disease affecting cattle and sheep.

Bluetongue spreads by biting midges. It causes fever, reduced milk yield, and reproductive problems in livestock.

The meeting included society business. Attendees elected a new committee for the 2026/2027 term.
