Paddy McLaughlin organized a fuel price protest in Strabane last Saturday. Around 40 tractors, lorries and cars gathered at the Dublin Road Industrial Estate before driving through the town.

McLaughlin runs PML Recovery and Transport, a limousine and vehicle recovery company. He plans another demonstration in Strabane this Saturday.

The protests demand a government cap on petrol, oil and kerosene prices. Protesters also seek removal or suspension of carbon tax, excise duty and VAT.

McLaughlin wants to link with organizers of similar events in Omagh, Ballygawley and Derry. He suggested a combined go-slow at Stormont.

He noted that police approved the Strabane route. McLaughlin believes legal action against other protests deterred some participants.
