John Bloomer, 61, from Aspen Walk in Dunmurry, received a four-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months at court for benefit fraud.

He claimed Jobseeker's Allowance worth £12,304 without declaring his employment.

The Department for Communities investigation revealed the offence.

Bloomer must repay all outstanding sums obtained incorrectly to the department.

The department accepts anonymous reports of suspected benefit fraud.
