A World War Two mortar was discovered in a field off Colebrook Road in Fivemiletown on Sunday, April 12. A member of the public found the object and reported it to police.

Officers attended the scene. Ammunition Technical Officers made the item safe. Police identified it as a mortar from the Second World War, which ran from September 1939 to September 1945.

Fivemiletown is in Fermanagh. The area hosted US Army troops at Blessingbourne Estate in the 1940s.
