Northern Ireland Broadcaster Eamonn Holmes Hospitalised After Stroke
Eamonn Holmes, a broadcaster from Northern Ireland, suffered a stroke last week and is receiving hospital treatment. GB News confirmed on Saturday that the 66-year-old presenter was taken ill and is responding well to care.
His son Declan Holmes stated the family appreciates messages of support. He said the incident came as a shock but his father is doing okay under the circumstances. The family is taking it one step at a time and focusing on keeping things steady, while requesting privacy.
Holmes posted on Instagram on Sunday with a photo of his granddaughters holding a get well card. He thanked followers for their good wishes, noting they give him strength, and committed to recovering soon.
GB News chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos called Holmes a valued team member. The channel plans to support his recovery and welcomes him back when ready. Alex Armstrong will cover his presenting duties this week.
Holmes presents GB News Breakfast alongside Ellie Costello. He joined the channel in 2022 after roles at other networks.
