AD Sustainability, an environmental consultancy based in Mid and East Antrim, plans to at least double its size over the next three to five years. The firm, founded in 2013 by Adrian Davis, employs three full-time consultants, a project assistant and a business support manager. Further recruitment is scheduled.

Founder Adrian Davis attributes growth to businesses facing higher energy costs and demands from customers and regulators for carbon reduction and sustainability improvements. The company assists public and private sector clients in manufacturing, hospitality, tourism, aerospace and energy sectors with energy and waste cost reductions, carbon accounting, reporting and decarbonisation planning.

AD Sustainability received support from the government-backed Go Succeed programme, delivered free through Northern Ireland's 11 councils. This aid helped scale operations, secure grants for equipment like thermal imaging technology and develop a new app-based tool for tracking environmental data and carbon emissions.

The firm also plans expansion into the Republic of Ireland within the next six months. Davis noted strong demand there already.

AD Sustainability mentors other businesses via Go Succeed, including work with councils on programmes for local firms to enhance environmental performance.

Laura McCourt, Business Client Manager at Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, stated that the company exemplifies how specialist local businesses respond to market needs, innovate and support others across Northern Ireland.
