Thieves targeted the Annaghmore Men's Shed on Tartaraghan Road outside Portadown on the night of March 25. They stole a large quantity of timber and sheeting meant for expanding the facility's activities. Damage occurred to one CCTV camera at the premises.

Police in Portadown reported the incident as a theft and attempted burglary between 10.30pm and 11pm. Officers appealed for information and asked people to call 101, quoting reference CC 740 of 26/03/26.

A project spokesperson stated the stolen materials were for constructing a lean-to to create more indoor space. The group described the loss as a setback involving time, effort, money, funding and goodwill.

The spokesperson emphasised that the shed serves as a community space where people receive support without judgement. Members help each other freely, fostering kindness and connection.

Despite the theft, volunteers began work on the lean-to on Saturday. They used remaining materials and donations from Gilbert Irvine, Ivan Glass and Ivan Rodgers. Gary designed the structure, and multiple people assisted on site.
