Auditions Open for Snow White Panto at Derry's Millennium Forum
The Millennium Forum in Derry has scheduled auditions for its Christmas pantomime Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. Sessions take place on April 24 from 3pm to 5pm and April 25 from 10am to 1pm.
Jonathan Burgess directs the production, which the venue produces as the sole professional pantomime in the North West. Lead roles available include Snow White, Prince Charming and the evil sidekick. Adult general ensemble positions for those aged 17 and over require singing, acting and dancing skills.
David McLaughlin, Chief Executive of the Millennium Forum and show producer for the past twenty-three years, stated that the venue has built a reputation for family-friendly Christmas pantomimes. He noted that Sleeping Beauty in 2021 was shortlisted for Best Panto in the UK Panto Awards. Beauty & The Beast last year performed to over 30,000 people and set box office records.
McLaughlin said the auditions offer performers a chance to join the biggest show of the season. He mentioned past cast members who advanced to notable roles, including Mairead Carlin in Celtic Woman, Jamie Lee O'Donnell in Derry Girls, Kerri Quinn in Coronation Street, Mikey J Heath in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Sinead Sharkey in the Harry Potter musical, Dylan Reid in Once, and Lisa McGee as stage manager.
Interested performers must contact Lisa Lynch at 028 71 272770 between 9.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday, or email [email protected], to book an audition slot in advance.
