The Millennium Forum in Derry has scheduled auditions for its youth production of the musical Evita. Performances will occur over four nights from July 29 to August 1.

Auditions take place on March 14 and 16. They target individuals aged 15 to 21 for lead roles including Eva Peron and Che, plus ensemble positions. The production also needs a youth orchestra and technical crew.

David McLaughlin, chief executive of the Millennium Forum and the show's producer, said the initiative supports local talent development. Participation remains free, marking the first youth musical there in three years and aligning with the venue's 25th anniversary. He invited those interested in acting, singing or dancing to take part.

Mags Anderson, education and outreach officer, noted that applicants must show skills in acting, singing and dancing. Auditions require a song and a one-minute contemporary monologue. Selected candidates commit to rehearsals from July until the shows. Advance booking closes on March 9.
