A 93-year-old woman from Burnside Manor in Derry faces a criminal damage charge related to a neighbour's vehicle. The alleged incident occurred on August 14, 2025.

Evelyn Land will make her first court appearance at that age, having no prior criminal record. Her defence counsel, Grainne McAnaney, highlighted the neighbour dispute nature of the matter.

McAnaney plans to contact the Public Prosecution Service regarding public interest in pursuing the case. The defendant admitted elements of the charge.

The case appeared at Derry Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday. Land did not attend the hearing.

McAnaney requested a delay to prepare representations to prosecutors. The court set the next date for April 13.
