Bikers Attend Low-Speed Skills Session in Antrim and Newtownabbey
Approximately 70 bikers attended a low-speed skills session at Transport Training Services on Saturday. Participants received coaching and practice before completing a police cone course.
Antrim and Newtownabbey PCSP provided support for the event. Air Ambulance Northern Ireland thanked attendees for donations. Organizations including Mental Health Motorbike, RoSPA, IAM RoadSmart, Johnsons Coffee, Motorcycle Action Group NI Rep, Road Safe NI Charity, Moto Training NI, and CMG Motorcycles Ltd took part.
Organizers noted the session helps bikers refresh skills after limited winter riding. BikeSafe Workshops offer similar training opportunities.
Basic motorcycle checks recommended before rides include tyre pressures and tread, lights, and oil and fuel levels.
Riders advised to adjust for weather and road conditions such as potholes from wet weather, plus possible frost and ice on chilly mornings.
