Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council's crematorium on Doagh Road in Newtownabbey recorded 1,407 cremations in 2025. Of these, 491 involved residents and 916 involved non-residents. Non-residents accounted for 65.1% of the total.

The facility opened in June 2023 at a cost of £5 million. Figures came from a bereavement services quarterly update presented to the council's Operations Committee last month.
The council's Head of Parks Operations is assessing options to cover the crematorium's exit walkway. He agreed to review parking and provide advice on increasing capacity.
He will report back on a timeline for the business case for a proposed Carnmoney South cemetery in Newtownabbey.
Carnmoney Cemetery in Newtownabbey has no new burial plots available. It retains 42 plots for ashes in its garden of remembrance.
Preparatory work for a garden of remembrance at Sixmile Cemetery in Antrim progresses on schedule. Design concepts are developed, and construction is set to start this spring.
