NI Water Advances Tree Planting Under Regreening Programme
NI Water marked International Day of Forests on 21 March 2026 by highlighting progress in its Regreening Programme. The initiative supports biodiversity, clean water, and future sustainability.
NI Water launched the Regreening Programme in 2020. It partners with The Woodland Trust Northern Ireland and DAERA Forest Service to plant native trees on its land.
The organisation has planted over 550,000 trees so far. The target is one million trees by 2030.
Saplings planted at NI Water's Dunore Point site in 2020 continue to grow.
