Derry City and Strabane District Council schedules a panel discussion on the legacy of the Tower Museum's Story of Derry exhibition. The event follows the exhibition's closure. It takes place at the Guildhall on Sunday, March 29, from 3pm to 5pm.

The discussion, titled Celebrating the Story of Derry: Looking Back, Moving Forward, features panelists Dr Brian Lacey, creator of the Tower Museum and exhibition; Helen Quigley of Inner City Trust; Odhrán Dunne of Visit Derry; and Margaret Edwards, Museum Service Manager for Derry City and Strabane District Council. Broadcaster Joe Mahon hosts.

Panelists will address the exhibition's influence on regional history presentation, the transfer of its collections and narratives, and plans for the new DNA Museum.

Mayor of Derry and Strabane Councillor Ruairí McHugh stated the Story of Derry helped generations grasp the city's history and urged attendance to influence future cultural efforts.

Margaret Edwards noted the exhibition's long role in the museum service and its appeal to worldwide visitors. She said the event allows reflection on lessons learned ahead of the DNA Museum transition.

Admission is free. Spaces are limited.
