Organisers in Fermanagh plan the annual Lap the Lough car cruise for Sunday, May 17, to mark what would have been Dwayne Bratton's 40th birthday. The event honours Bratton, who died on December 18, 2022, at age 36 after treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma at the Cancer Centre in Belfast.

The cruise starts at 2pm from Fort Knox Bar in Lack. Participants will drive through Ederney, Kesh, Lisnarick, Enniskillen, and Irvinestown before returning to Lack via Ederney. Activities begin at 12pm, with music and a charity raffle at the bar from around 5pm.

All proceeds support Friends of the Cancer Centre in Belfast. The event has raised £25,636.74 over four years.

Warren Bratton, Dwayne's cousin, organises the cruise with his mother Sandra Bratton and Dwayne's sisters Vicky and Tracy. Warren Bratton stated the event began four years ago to celebrate Dwayne's interest in cars, which he shared with family from a young age.

Past routes included drives to Bundoran in the first two years and to Enniskillen last year. The event draws car enthusiasts from the region.
