Annual Lap of the Lough Car Cruise Set for Fermanagh to Honour Dwayne Bratton
A car cruise around Lough Erne takes place on Sunday, May 17, in Fermanagh. The Lap of the Lough event starts at 2pm from Fort Knox Bar in Lack. It honours Dwayne Bratton on what would have been his 40th birthday.
The cruise follows a route through Ederney, Kesh, Lisnarick, Enniskillen and Irvinestown before returning to Lack via Ederney. Warren Bratton, Dwayne's cousin, organises the event with his mother Sandra Bratton and Dwayne's sisters Vicky and Tracy. Warren Bratton stated the cruise began four years ago to mark Dwayne's interest in cars.
All proceeds support Friends of the Cancer Centre in Belfast. The event has raised £25,636.74 to date. This year includes a street collection in Lack and a charity raffle with tickets available at Fort Knox Bar.
Food service begins at 12 noon from AJ Chips on Main Street in Lack. Music and the raffle follow the cruise from around 5pm at Fort Knox Bar. Warren Bratton noted support from groups including Cavalier Classic Owners NI and participants from across Northern Ireland.
Dwayne Bratton died on December 18, 2022. He left three children: Carley, Kane and Demi-Lee.
