Orange Order Presents Community Awards at Lisburn Event
The Orange Order held its Community Awards at the Island Arts Centre in Lisburn on Saturday night. The event recognised achievements across multiple categories from numerous nominations.
Grand Master Most Wor. Bro. Harold Henning presented the Grand Master’s Award to Rt. Wor. Bro. Denis Watson. Watson served 30 years as County Grand Master of Armagh. Henning noted Watson's role in initiatives that included opening the Museum of Orange Heritage at Sloans House in Loughgall.
Pomeroy Faith Defenders LOL 325 received the Best New Banner award. Wor. Bro. Rev. David McLaughlin won in Christian Outreach. Sister Rachael Hawkes took the Sporting Achievement category.
Cloncore Guiding Star LOL 84 earned the Lodge Membership Numerical Increase award. Mowillan Chosen Few LOL 1436 won for Lodge Membership Percentage Increase. Rev. William Maguire LOL 717 received recognition for Outstanding Community Service.
Rt. Wor. Bro. Richard Fleming gained the Outstanding Individual Community Service award. Mavemacullen Accordion Band was named Band of the Year.
Performances came from Commons Silver Band, Sgt. White Memorial Flute Band, and Co Armagh Drum Majors.
