Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will host an Outdoor Sensory Event called Nature Makes Sense at The Grange in Omagh on March 19. The event targets families with children of all abilities through nature-based sensory activities.

The Western Health Trust partners with the council and the Department for the Economy’s Careers Advice Service on events for World Autism Acceptance Week from March 28 to April 3.

The Western Trust schedules virtual online sessions for parents and carers of children and young people with a confirmed autism diagnosis. Sessions cover supporting sensory differences, autism and anxiety, and autism in teenage years.

The Trust’s Early Intervention Team offers virtual workshops for families awaiting diagnostic assessment. Topics include the power of play and managing worries.

On April 2, World Autism Awareness Day, the Department for the Economy hosts a session on career planning for young people with autism. It provides guidance on the How I Work digital tool to help explore strengths and future planning.
