Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Deborah Erskine of the Democratic Unionist Party questioned the Infrastructure Minister over a court judgement on the A5 road project.

Erskine stated the judgement followed warnings about net zero climate targets halting infrastructure work. She described a challenge to Mr McAlinden's judgement as a response to issues from Sinn Fein, SDLP and Alliance parties.

Records show the Sinn Fein Infrastructure Minister and Alliance DAERA Minister held no meetings after the judgement. Erskine requested details of any such meetings.

In June, the Infrastructure Minister told the Assembly she consulted the Department's legal team on the A5. She met the Attorney General ten days after the ruling, despite claims of ongoing discussions.

Erskine said communities in western Northern Ireland need action on the A5 project. The road runs through Tyrone and connects to Derry.
